Bob Dylan Hands Out Hank Williams Lyrics Like Stolen Weed

By Mack Rawden: 2008-02-25 21:01:19
Bob Dylan Hands Out Hank Williams Lyrics Like Stolen Weed Record labels are horrible at keeping secrets. I’d tell TMZ about my baby mama drama before some miserable suit at Colombia Records. Sure, they try and act like months-in-advance album details were accidentally leaked, but Leopold and Loeb were more surreptitious than that. But even with this well-known history of beauty parlor gossip, the details as to how exactly Bob Dylan acquired the lyrics to twenty-five unfinished Hank Williams’ songs are still unknown. I’m picturing a flashlight, black clothing, and an empty bag of weed, but I’m yet to complete my three week correspondence course on how to become a detective from The University of Phoenix.

According to MTV, Bob Dylan has been passing out the aforementioned tracks all willy-nilly to famous musicians, after keeping one for himself, of course. Each lucky artist will then add music to the unfinished Hank Williams’ words, and the results will be compiled into a giant compilation CD. So, far Willie Nelson, Jack White, Lucinda Williams, and Alan Jackson are on board, but many more are expected to hop on this crazy genre-hoping train.

If anyone knows Bob Dylan, please inform him I’m not really doing anything this week and would be more than happy to lend some sweet recorder solos.
