Chris Cornell Stalked - Not By Me

I’ll admit I indulge in a guilty pleasure better known as compulsively checking TMZ.com, but at least Friday there was something interesting that didn’t involve Britney’s custody battle or a video of someone’s weave being pulled out of their head during a fight in front of Hyde lounge. (You watch it too, don’t judge.) The item was actually about a blast-from-the-past grunge rocker I hadn’t heard from in a while! (Actually, it’s Chris Cornell. I know Scott Weiland’s DUI was in the news last week also, but frankly, DUI’s are slowly becoming glorified ways of getting yourself in the news.)

As a self-appointed fan of all things Cornell, I was intrigued to learn that after leading two successful bands and maintaining a solo career, the former Soundgarden and Audioslave frontman filed a restraining order against a stalker, allegedly hired by his former wife and Soundgarden manager Sarah Silver. Talk about revenge of the ex!

TMZ.com, courtesy of their second home at the Los Angeles County courthouse obtained documents filed by Cornell on Wednesday for a restraining order on an ex- sheriff’s deputy who allegedly stalked him with a gun. The documents also claim that Silver threatened to harm Cornell’s 2-year-old son with new wife Vicky Karayiannis, whom IMDB sites Cornell as marrying the same month he dissolved his 14-year marriage to Silver in 2004. Do you sense a little animosity here?

The case has gotten so serious that the LAPD’s Threat Management Unit has taken over the case. The documents also reveal the man to have “broke into [Cornell’s} home, wandered from room to room and urinated in their home.” Something tells me he missed the potty. Allow the “I would stalk Chris Cornell’s sexy hot ass any day if I could” comments to commence.
