It’s official. Coldplay are the best act in the world. At least according to England’s Q Awards they are.
The British band took home the prize for that honor, as one of two awards they won at London’s Q Awards this past Monday. Coldplay also won best album honors for their worldwide chart topper Viva La Vida (or Death and All His Friends), which was released earlier this year.
Duffy, whose album Rockferry has sold over three million copies worldwide, took home the prize for best breakthrough artist. Other big winners at the Q Awards included English group Keane (Best Track for "Spiralling" from Perfect Symmetry); Vampire Weekend (Best Video for "A-Punk"); The Kaiser Chiefs (Best Live Act); and The Last Shadow Puppets (Best New Act).
In other Coldplay news, the band is readying a new EP of material leftover from the sessions for Viva La Vida for release later this year. Prospekt's March is currently penciled in for a November 25 release by Capitol Records. The new EP will be released both as a stand alone EP and as part of a deluxe edition of Viva la Vida that will include both the original album and the new EP.
The first single from Prospekt's March will be a new remix of the song “Lost,” featuring rapper Jay Z, now being called “Lost+.”
Here is the complete track listing for Prospekt’s March:
1. "Life in Technicolor ii"
2. "Postcards From Far Away"
3. "Glass of Water"
4. "Rainy Day"
5. "Prospekt's March/ Poppyfields"
6. "Lost +" (Jay-Z remix)
7. "Lovers in Japan" (Osaka Sun mix)
8. "Now My Feet Won't Touch the Ground"
