Coldplay’s Viva La Vida Streaming

You may hate them, you may love them, or you may claim to hate them because it makes you feel more musically discerning than the guy sitting next to you on the school bus, but regardless of your opinion on the bar-fighten’-est mellow band out there, you deserve to hear Coldplay’s entire new album streaming right here, right now.

Released yesterday, June 17, Viva La Vida is what you’d expect, and what you wouldn’t expect. It’s the band’s first release with no sign of producer Ken Nelson, yet things don’t sound radically different from their other LPs. They’ve moved in some direction, as we might have guessed they would, but no one will likely be surprised by anything.

They have, however, incorporated a small amount of African influence that occasionally resembles the soundtrack to The Ghost and the Darkness. This supposedly earns them culture points.
