Actor Kevin Costner may be latching onto a few too many conspiracy theories since starring in Oliver Stone’s JFK. According to SF Gate, the aging lothario filed an $8.5 million lawsuit this week against Mahee Worldwide Ventures Inc., a music promotion company, for failing to help him kick-start a hit singing career.
Costner is the lead singer of the Kevin Costner Band (could I make such a thing up?) and he is suing the company for breach of contract and fraud. In the suit, the lawyer claims: "Defendants made numerous promises regarding their capabilities to promote Mr. Costner's music and (their) willingness to pay for the right to do so … Instead of following through on their promises, defendants continued to make false promises and ultimately disappeared ..."
I know what you’re thinking: Kevin Costner sings? Yes, he does, but that speaks nothing of the quality of his voice. As for why MWV was unable to lift his career off the ground, well, let’s take a look at Exhibit A:
