Once again defying all conventional norms, White Stripes lead singer Jack White has announced his favorite side project, The Raconteurs, will release a new album–in seven days. Screw promotions. Forget creating hype. The internet generation doesn’t need more than one week to get pumped about an LP.
According to Pitchfork, the band also announced fifteen tour dates, because, why not? When you’re on a roll surprising people, there’s really no point in stopping. The series of dates will see them journey as far North as British Columbia and as far East as Norway. Or would that be West? They’re traveling in some direction for a long time.
So, in conclusion, Jack White announced a new CD to be released next week (out of nowhere). Then he announced a tour (out of nowhere). It’s like Cloverfield all over again; though, let’s hope these bombshells aren’t going to be underwhelming wastes of time. Here’s a list of the tour dates....
