Jackson Family Rumors: Janet’s In (Maybe), Michael’s Out

What began with a statement from Jermaine Jackson saying that the original Jackson 5 – including brother Michael and sister Janet - would reunite for a tour in 2009 now appears to be less than certain.

Speaking at a TV industry event in Sydney, Jermaine Jackson stated that the tour would include the five original Jackson brothers, with sister Janet opening the shows. Janet Jackson’s own “Rock Wichu” tour has had its own series of problems, including a string of cancellations due to Janet’s health problems which are said to be associated with the singer suffering from vertigo. The tour has since resumed, although Janet Jackson has had to tone down some of the racier segments at some shows, and opening act LL Cool J recently left the tour, citing scheduling conflicts.

Michael Jackson meanwhile has issued his own statement which says he will not be a part of any Jackson 5 reunion next year.

"My brothers and sisters have my full love and support, and we’ve certainly shared many great experiences, but at this time I have no plans to record or tour with them," Jackson said in a statement which appears at Billiboard.com.

"I am now in the studio developing new and exciting projects that I look forward to sharing with my fans in concert soon."

There has been been neither confirmation nor denial thus far from the camp of Janet Jackson.
