Have I ever told you how much I love Jay-Z? Well, I do. I’m not a big fan of the whole hip-hop movement, but Jay-Z, well, he’s a mother-fucking rock star.
A few months back, Beyonce’s husband was announced as a headliner for the Glastonbury Festival, and a whole host of music fans freaked out, babbling on about his rap game not being in keeping with the concert’s historical aesthetic. Oasis’ Noel Gallagher was perhaps Jay’s harshest critic, lambasting the organizers for even considering the millionaire emcee. Well, the concert was this past weekend and looks like the joke was on Noel and his big mouth.
According to Billboard, Jay-Z opened his set by playing a series of clips parodying Oasis and then busted into “Wonderwall”, which bled into a guitar-fueled version of his own hit “99 Problems.” Seriously, you need to click over to Billboard right now and watch this video. Simply awesome.
