The rapper is in the works to sponsor his own stadium—yea, I know; you had to read that sentence more than once, right? Is there a question mark floating over your head yet? Read on. Yes, according to Music-News.com, the hip-hop star is discussing the possibility of sponsoring a New Jersey arena, which will cost about $600,000 and would be branded by his Rocawear clothing range. He has held talks with the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority (NJSEA) over naming rights to the Meadowlands venue, which is currently owned by Continental Airlines. Speaking about the bidding war, Music-News.com also reported that a spokesman for the NJSEA said, “We're looking forward to presentations by bidders next week, and then we'll get into the process of evaluation. I'm optimistic that we'll be able to overachieve the current financial deal that we (had) with Continental.” In the meantime, Jay is in the studio yet again recording American Gangster, the album inspired by Ridley Scott’s upcoming movie. It is slated for release on November 6.
