Jordin Loses Vocal Spark, Postpones Shows

American Idol’s youngest winner has been forced to take a breather from vocal jumping jacks for the rest of the month. Set to open for Alicia Keys’ recently launched tour, 2007 AI graduate Jordin Sparks has been forced to cancel public appearances after catching an old case of acute vocal chord hemorrhaging. That doesn’t sound like it hurts at all.

“All of her April activities have been postponed or canceled so she can take care of her voice properly," the singer’s spokesperson told the Associated Press Monday after Sparks missed Keys’ opening tour performance in Virginia and an appearance at Earth Day in Washington, D.C. “Sparks has been going nonstop over the past two years and now she's going through the normal course of learning how to manage and care for her voice,” her rep added.

Being a Blake Lewis girl myself, I still wave an imaginary yellow happy face Get Well balloon for you, Jordin. You certainly sing your heart out and kept me on the edge of my seat last season, even outlasting every one of my 882 votes for Sanjaya.
