Josh Groban Records Himself Singing For Mormons

Fresh off his brilliant cameo in Jimmy Kimmell’s “I Fucked Ben Affleck” video, smooth-voiced crooner Josh Groban is making plans to release a live concert CD/DVD package. Awake Live, which was recorded during an August 2007 gig in Salt Lake City, Utah, will hit stores on May 6th and spin-off into a PBS special sometime June. The mark of a true businessman: repackaging the same gig three times in order to triple profits. Make those dollar bills, Josh!

According to Billboard, facts are still a little muddled, but “Awake Live” will double as the singer’s first single. Over the last few years, Josh Groban has quietly built up a following among both middle-aged women and critics. I was initially underwhelmed, but his 2007 Christmas CD Noel turned me into a fan.
