Kid Rock Hands Out Breakfast, Not Beatdowns

If only I had chosen today to be in Duluth, Ga. and had Kid Rock flip my flapjacks. The rock rapper took orders, cooked food and signed autographs at the Atlanta-area Waffle House this afternoon to raise money for Nicholas House - a homeless shelter in the area.

When used in the same sentence, Kid Rock and Waffle House may conjure up a recent memory – the one of Kid being jailed back in October for getting into a brawl with male customer over a girl. A Waffle House spokesperson said the aim was to "take a negative situation and turn it into a positive [one]." What great PR Waffle House has for temporarily employing a celebrity partially responsible for feeding into the diner’s sketchy reputation.

While Kid served fried chicken and waffles to fans for a good cause - and most likely had to wear a hairnet while doing it (can’t wait for those pictures) - this is just another example of celebrities getting away with whatever they want. I would think if I slapped a bitch down at my local Dunkin’ Donuts, I wouldn’t be getting free dibs on their hash browns.
