Kylie Minogue fans just got an early Christmas present: A bunch of songs from her new album, which doesn’t yet have a title or release date, have leaked onto certain file-sharing Web sites. Fans are likely jumping at the chance to hear her new ditties, since Kylie’s last studio release was Body Language in 2004.
According to Dotmusic, five songs have leaked, following another five that magically appeared last week. Among them, “Stars,” “Fall For You” and “Sensitized” have made the rounds. "It's a new marketing ploy that record companies are using to get exposure," a source claimed.
Oh, please. What kind of numbnut would buy that?
Setting the record straight, the pint-sized singer’s spokesman has said, "There would be no point in songs being leaked on to the net this far ahead of the release."
Kylie Minogue has taken a long hiatus, due in big part to her battle with breast cancer. A documentary about her trials and tribulations, titled White Diamond, will come out sometime in 2007.
The tenacious pop star has beaten a disease and recovered from a difficult break-up shortly after with Olivier Martinez, so a few songs leaking on the Web shouldn’t be enough to keep her down. Like the Energizer bunny, she takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin'.
