Lennon Gets Monument

If you thought John Lennon was popular before, you haven’t seen anything yet. Well, at least that’s what Iceland would have you to believe. The island’s government is currently unveiling a monument with the inscription “Imagine Peace” to honor the fallen Beatle. How special is that?

According to Music-News, the lighthouse memorial will feature the aforementioned slogan in twenty-four different languages. Peace? Why didn’t I think of that? Pacifists have praised the move as a naive step in the right direction, but I, personally, have problems endorsing anything associated with Yoko Ono. Actually, that’s probably why I hate people passing inaudible screaming off as music.
