Mellencamp And King Form Unlikely Alliance
I’ve seen a lot of unpredictable partnerships in my day, been wowed by scores of bizarre collaborations. Uncle Sam teamed up with Charlie Communist to pound the shit out of Hitler’s baller ‘stache. Metallica slept with PG-13 rated producer Bob Rock for like five albums. Some creative DJ even found a way to loop “Smells Like Teen Spirit” over “Bootylicious”, but Stephen King and John Mellencamp in cahoots? What has this world come to.

According to Billboard, Indiana native Mellencamp will write the score for King’s upcoming music entitled Ghost Brothers Of Darkland County. I unequivocally defend everything John Cougar touches, but Ghost Brothers Of Darkland County? Seriously? I doubt producers of Are You Afraid Of The Dark would have even let a title this ridiculous go.

Oh well, I guess we’ll just have to remember the good times. Here’s a video of Mellencamp performing “Pink Houses.” I apologize in advance for the camera work. The regular guy was sick; so, they asked Michael J. Fox to fill in.
