My Morning Jacket Announces Tour, Fans Crap

My Morning Jacket have announced that they will be headlining a 27-stop tour beginning June 20. Yeah, yeah, MMJ are soaking the country this year with a new album coming out and performances at Coachella and Bonnaroo, hell they’re even playing on Saturday Night Live this week. But all of those pale in comparison to the details of this most recent news.
The overwhelming majority of the concerts will be performed in an “evening with” format, meaning America's best jamband since Phish will play whatever they want for however long they want and you get to shit in your pants as much as you want (unless you live in Morrison, Colorado, the only stop without this format, then you just get to shit yourself because you’ll have something to do other than watch the grass grow). Frontman Jim James explained the blessing on Billboard.com, saying “That's the problem we always have sitting around trying to make a set list. You want to play the new ones, but you also want to do some of the older ones. That's why [we] keep playing longer and longer.” I know, I know, it’s like saying “The problem we always have when we’re knocking boots is we like the bed but when the washing machine hits the rinse cycle… So now we just do both.” Ain’t life a bitch? So this summer when you’re staring at Ticketmaster.com trying to decide between Neil Diamond or Kenny Chesney, remember the rinse cycle and click on My Morning Jacket.
