Think of Hilary Duff. Think of the kind of career she has forged thus far in her young life. Think of the work she has done, the Disney show, the items she has supported, the P.R. moves, the tabloid feuds created from nothingness, the less attractive/talented sister riding her coattails who now for some reason gets her own albums and movies. Think of what Hilary Duff means to you, and think of what she means to popular culture.
Now, try to guess the name of her next album title.
I’ll give you a hint: What have most of the moves in her career been lacking in any capacity? Another hint: What is someone saying goodbye to when purchasing her products and allowing her career to flourish?
Yep, you guessed it: Dignity!
Duff’s latest experiment in utterly disposable teeny-pop music, Dignity, is due April 3 from Hollywood. According to Billboard, young Miss Duff, who turns 20 years old this September, has invested her new album with the danceable beats and rhythms she is now old enough to experience at the local club. Guest stars on the album include Tim & Bob, will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas, Vada Nobles and Fred Wreck.
This will be her first studio album since 2004’s self-titled offering, which has thus far sold 1.8 million copies. “With Love” will serve as the new album’s first single. Never one to miss a promotional opportunity, “With Love” is also the name of Hilary Duff’s new signature fragrance, available from Elizabeth Arden.
She’s not the first Disney star to forge a pop career based solely on the talent of her genes. We’ve been down this road before, with talents seminal and worthy of attention (Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera) and others bringing sharp relief to the lows our celebrity-driven popular culture is capable of (Britney Spears, on her way to being our generation’s great American tragedy).
At least Duff wears underwear in public. She starts dating a back-up dancer, the party’s over.

The problem with Hilary is that she can't sing to save her life. And that song Haters has got to be the most idiotic thing I've ever heard, where Hil and Hay brand everyone who doesn't like someone as...you guessed it: A HATER!!!! Of course, since Hil doesn't like Lindsay or Nicole, that also makes Hil...you guessed it: A HATER!!!
