OK, We're Getting A New CD

Treadmill enthusiasts OK Go are currently writing for a new album in hopes it will be ready to record this Summer. You probably only know them as that band with the weird exercising video, but if nothing else, the Chicagoans should be remembered for describing a woman as “having a body like a battle axe” on their 2002 single “Get Over It.” F. Scott Fitzgerald couldn’t have penned a better homage to the fairer sex.

According to Billboard, the foursome aren’t prolific writers while on tour; so, the bulk of the song writing will be done in the next few months. Apparently, they like to head into the recording phase with at least fifty to sixty songs before making final cuts. Sweet Jesus. That means they’re disregarding at least seventy-five percent of the compositions. My favorite punk Band, NOFX, should take heed, rather than releasing twenty-five song albums.

OK Go is also planning to hit the road for a few dates at some point this year; so, be checking back for updates on that. I’ve never seen the group live, but I’ve only heard great things.
