I’m going to say something a lot of people have been thinking. Oasis has really let me down over the last few years. Not musically. Their work has been fine–not great–but fine. I’m talking about in chicanery. The Gallagher brothers used to be good for at least two verbal spats, one drunken altercation, and three break-up rumors a week. Not anymore. They’ve gone soft, left all the outrageousness to Pete Doherty and Amy Winehouse. Come’on boys. Get it together.
According to NME, the group announced details for their new album, and sadly, it’ll come out on time. Not a decade ago. Nope. This thing would be pushed back months amidst punches, prostitutes, and parties, but now, the middle-aged and more laid back brothers will actually follow through on their commitment. It’s a cold day in hell.
The LP, entitled Dig Out Your Soul, will be available on October 6th, with the first single, “The Shock Of The Lightning”, dropping on September 29th. I’ve yet to hear any material off this new effort, but Noel admitted it’s very similar to the demo and was recorded with lightning pace. Yay for puns.
