Want to feel old for a sec? Pearl Jam’s raging epic song “Jeremy” came out 16 years ago.

Take a few moments to let that one digest. And while you’re doing that, feast on some good, less-frightening news: Pearl Jam is visiting Europe this June for a 13-show tour to promote its latest self-titled album for J Records.

This is a great announcement for people in Europe looking to jam with the crooning, riff-happy rockers. It’s not so wonderful, however, for fans that were looking forward to seeing them perform at this summer’s Bonnaroo festival in Manchester, Tenn., as previously reported. In short, that idea has been scrapped in favor of a European vacation.

Also, if you’re a fellow North American waiting anxiously for the band to come to your neck of the woods, don’t hold your breath. "Historically, there have been five years or so between our visits to Europe, so it's a treat to go back again so soon," says band manager Kelly Curtis, after stating that the band has no other tours scheduled for 2007.

Bah humbug.
