Quiet Riot's Kevin DuBrow Passes
Kevin DuBrow, lead singer of the hair metal band Quiet Riot, died yesterday at the age of fifty-two. Best known for his cover of Slade’s “Cum On Feel The Noize”, DuBrow was a notorious loose cannon, frequently squabbling with both the media and his own band members. He was once unceremoniously fired after an ill-fated gig in Hawaii. The band flew back to the mainland without even informing him.

According to TMZ, the multi-platinum singer’s body was found by a neighbor on Sunday evening. He had been deceased for an unknown length of time. An autopsy is currently being performed by the Las Vegas coroner’s office, but no cause of death has been announced.

Many consider Quiet Riot little more than a one hit footnote in the history of 80s metal, but it’s important to remember they were the first LA Sunset Strip band to reach number one on the Billboard charts. Their most successful album, Metal Health, sold in excess of six million copies.

Here’s to you, Kevin DuBrow. Some of my best memories involve throwing back whiskey shots and screaming “Girls rock your boys” along with your screeching, underrated voice. You will be missed.

Here’s one more for the fans...
