Ringo Decapitated, Beatles You Care About Still Intact

Poor Ringo Starr. He always gets the shit end of every stick in reference to The Beatles. As the unofficial sad bloke of the fab four, he lurks in the shadows of the legend left behind by George, Paul and John. Now, even his hometown doesn’t want him for insulting the people of Liverpool comes at no cost less than your head. Too bad Starr found this out the hard way when a grassy sculpture of the Beatles drummer was beheaded in the UK city after he admitted on national television that he missed nothing from the recently donned Capital of Culture.

Unveiled just under a month ago as part of a sculpted shrubbery featuring the rest of The Beatles (who were spared) some unknown vandal took what probably was a power saw to Starr’s head, which remains missing. Though speculation about this being in response to Starr’s snarky comments runs rampant, personally, I find this to be one seriously ironic form of symbolism. And to further my theory, this wasn’t the first time someone’s messed with his noggin. A Liverpool worker, who works outside of the transportation station where the sculpture was vandalized, claims that "Last time someone squashed [his] head.” What kind of mistake did Ringo make that time? Existing?
