Rock The Bells Lineup Announced, Q-Tip Too Excited

Last year’s Rock The Bells Festival blindsided music fans everywhere by announcing a reunited Rage Against The Machine, Public Enemy and what was left of the Wu-Tang Clan as its major headliners. Looks like this year its once again living up the hip-hop version of Coachella hype by reuniting another major music act – A Tribe Called Quest.

Adding to the bill is “Me, Myself and I” authors De La Soul, Nas, Mos Def, Rakim and another reunited rap classic – the Pharcyde. This year also sees a stray away from widely accepted hip-hop acts by throwing in indie Hipster backhands Spank Rock, Santogold, The Cool Kids and Flosstradamus to round out the traveling fest, which begins in Chicago on July 19 and sees its end in Vancouver August 30. A Tribe Called Quest co-hort Q-tip almost sounded like he was waiting for the call telling Billboard,"They asked me, and I immediately decided to do it," adding, “Rock the Bells has given me the opportunity to reunite with my legendary cohorts -- Ali and Phife -- and premiere my latest material from The Renaissance." Tour dates below:

July 19 – Chicago
July 20 – Toronto
July 26 – Boston
July 27 – New York
Aug 2 – Miami
Aug 3 – Philadelphia
Aug 9 – Los Angeles
Aug 16 – San Francsico
Aug 23 – Denver
Aug 30 - Vancouver
