Following several stints in jail that included arrests for purchasing crack cocaine, a 2003 stint in rehab to avoid DUI charges, narrowly escaping a domestic abuse charge after going batshit on his wife, another DUI bust in November and ditching one of his own gigs last month, Scott Weiland does the unthinkable: he threw his own ass back in rehab! This, on the heels of a decade’s worth of fuck-up’s by the Velvet Revolver singer who checked himself into an undisclosed rehab center after a show Wednesday night in Los Angeles. This left the band to cancel their show the following night in San Diego. Oh how those Guns n’ Roses and Stone Temple Pilots fans are missing out!
The band issued a statement to MTV saying "Weiland voluntarily entered a rehab facility. Velvet Revolver deeply apologize to their fans and thank them for sticking by the group." No word yet on the status of the planned STP reunion tour that was set for this summer or this current tour, which is set to continue in Australia February 15. So far everything is set to take place as planned. That gives Weiland just days to get sober before the Australia show and well, with his track record I don’t see why not.
