A successful switch over from acting to music and vice versa often occurs gradually, but it looks like Shirley Manson is going for a full-on plunge. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the former Garbage singer landed a reoccurring role on Fox’s Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. Manson is set to play the CEO of a major tech company on the show, which scored the highest ratings of a newly scripted series when it debuted mid-season last year.
Garbage’s last album as a band was 2005’s Bleed Like Me which spawned a two-year hiatus by the band, who only “returned” to the biz for a greatest hits collection last year. Manson, however, promises a solo effort later this year, which she mostly composed during the hiatus. It’s got a lengthy list of collaborators including Billy Corgan, Beck and Jack White, with Nirvana producer Butch Vig co-writing and producing. So far, that sounds promising. My sincere affection towards Shirley Manson, however, still lies towards her penchant for short dresses and knee-high steel toe boots. You know you wanted a pair too.
