I’m sure there’s a moral to this story somewhere, if you just look hard enough.
Last week, Snoop Dogg applied for a UK visa in order to continue his worldwide tour with P Diddy. According to MTV UK, his request has been shot down like an unsuspecting gang member in an empty lot. Turns out that Dogg’s bad-boy, drug-filled past and string of arrests have made him a less than ideal visitor to the country.
That’s a pretty shocking ruling, and one that he is trying hard to override by pleading with the UK government. As he told MTV UK, "With my mic and my presence I can reach kids the politicians can't and tell them to stop the violence and killings that are currently going on in the UK.
"I'm here to perform and give people what they want - to be a peace figure. Me and Puffy come from a background where with the east coast and the west coast there were a lot of diferences [sic] in the hip hop community. But now we want to go around the world and show postive [sic] examples in the UK."
In October of last year, Snoop Dogg was arrested at Burbank Airport over possession of marijuana and a firearm. That’s fewer than six months ago, which makes his claims of being a reformed citizen of peace and the poster child for good behavior a bit hard to believe.
That said, if the UK won’t grant him visitor's access, then they will have to set some kind of precedent with it. If they allow coked-up movie stars and misbehaving white Hollywooders into the country, they won't look too good only banning hip-hop and rap artists. It’s a slippery slope, indeed.

It's going to be very hard for the U.K not to look racist once they allow Nick Nolte, Robery Downey JR, Britney Spears and Rush Limbaugh into the country.
