This story probably isn’t for you. It’s for that random guy you’re sorta friends with who used to wear Dream Theater and Mastadon shirts to school. After a few years, he probably decided they’d lost their edge and moved on to weird metal from random Scandinavian countries. Yeah, forward on this link to him. He’ll be highly interested.
According to Blabbermouth, Spiritus Mortis, fresh off signing a new deal with Firebox Records, is preparing to hit the studio tomorrow to record their third full-length album. The Finnish metal gods, formerly called Rigor Mortis, have been breaking eardrums and rocking faces since I was born--literally--and should have the new disc ready for early 2009. Why does it always seem like metal bands not named Metallica finish Cds in like a month while other bands take a year recording and rerecording?
Until then, hit up iTunes or your local record store and pick up the band’s last release Fallen. I’ve never listened to it, nor do I plan on it because I’m not that guy.
