Iconic rock legends Bruce Springsteen and Bob Dylan are now offering more than just the soundtrack of our lives. Yes, they are now lending tracks to the upcoming soundtrack for Lucky You, which is described as a poker-themed movie.
According to Billboard, the soundtrack features other recognizable names, such as Bonnie Raitt, George Jones, Ryan Adams, Shawn Colvin and one of the film’s co-stars, Drew Barrymore. She will provide the song “The Cold Hart Truth.” Who knows if that’s any good, but she must be ecstatic that her name appears in a line-up with all these greats. With any luck, Lucky You will break her avid streak of mediocrity when it hits theatres March 16.
Dylan’s song “Huck’s Tune” can be found on the soundtrack, with Springsteen supplying us with “Lucky Town” and “The Fever.” Springsteen recorded “The Fever” in 1973, but it was never officially released. He performed the ballad on a number of occasions during the "Darkness on the Edge of Town" tour back in 1978. For some reason, it didn’t make the Springsteen retrospective Tracks way back in 1998. I suppose the point is that at least it’s here now, and for that we should be grateful.
