Strummer To Be Honored On Anniversary
Joe Strummer was underappreciated by the masses during his life time, and sadly, he’ll more than likely be underappreciated by history. I certainly wouldn’t bookend him alongside Lennon and Jagger, but for my money, the Clash were better than Aerosmith and Puddle Of Mudd. Seriously. But you don’t need to tell that to the thousands of Strummer fanatics who will be attending an upcoming charity festival and fundraiser on the anniversary of the singer’s death. Joe Strummer passed away six years ago, well before his time.

According to Music-News, the extravaganza will be held in Brighton and feature several cover bands, you guessed it, covering the Clash’s music. All proceeds will go to a charity which seeks to put guitars into prisons. Andy Dufresne would be proud.

Here’s a video of the Clash doing what they do best…
