The CB Music Friday Flash 09/12/08: Kanye West; AC/DC Tour; Oasis; Best Weekend Concerts

Welcome to the CB Friday Flash, where we cap the week in music and look forward to the weekend in concerts. And what a week it was. Especially if you happen to be named either Kanye West or Oasis.

We've got all the latest on Kanye's new song, new album, and latest bust. We've also got AC/DC tour news, and how Oasis connected with a fan this week

Kanye began his (week that is) at Sunday’s MTV Video Music awards, losing (again) in the best hip-hop video category (to Lil’ Wayne), and then debuting his new single, “Love Lockdown.”

As Kanye’s week wore on, rumors of a new album arriving by December picked up steam as both Target and Amazon.com posted a December 16 date for something called 808s And Heartbreak (an album title which has neither been confirmed or denied by West’s management or label). As the week drew towards a close, Kanye was arrested at Los Angeles’ LAX airport for allegedly roughing up a papparazo.

Meanwhile, Oasis have postponed tonight’s New York concert at Terminal 5, as a direct result of injuries sustained by guitarist Noel Gallagher after being roughed up himself earlier this week, when an audience member attacked him onstage at a show in Canada. Oasis’ new album Dig Out Your Soul comes out on October 7.

As expected, AC/DC announced their plans for their “Rock N’ Roll Train” American concert tour, to follow the release of their first album in eight years, Black Ice.

The tour will open in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania on October 28th and wrap up on December 18th in Charlotte, NC, with the band returning in summer 2009 for a round of stadium shows. Tickets go on sale Sept. 20, and the full schedule can be found at Rolling Stone.com.
