The CB Music Friday Flash For 07/26/08 Welcome back to the CB Music Friday Flash, with apologies for last week’s absence. You know what they say about starting your weekend too early, right?

Fortunately, we’ve long since recovered from the hangover and are here with some of the top music news stories heading into the weekend. As always, we’ll also take a quick look at the best weekend concert bets happening coast to coast in everything from clubs to arenas to those perennial summer favorites, the outdoor “sheds.”

First of all though, Fleetwood Mac have more or less confirmed that they will be heading out on tour sometime next year, but they will apparently be doing so without the widely rumored addition of Sheryl Crow, filling the spot vacated by Christine McVie.

"No, that was those Rumours—to quote the album," Crow told a group of Nashville college students Wednesday at a Grammys Foundation Q&A session. Leaving the door cracked open however, she also added, "Hopefully in the future we'll have some kind of collaboration, but not at this time."

Fleeetwood Mac’s Lindsey Buckingham meanwhile embarks on a solo tour Sept. 7 in support of his upcoming album, the rock oriented Gift of Screws. Crow is currently on tour in support of her own Detours album.

Rapper Lil’ Wayne, who is currently riding high on the success of his CD Tha Carter III just got some bad news from the Rolling Stones.

In a suit filed in federal court in Lower Manhattan, Abkco Music (which handles the Stones copyrighted works) has accused the rapper (whose real name is Dwayne Michael Carter) of copyright infringement and unfair competition over the track “Playing With Fire.” The suit claims that Lil’ Wayne’s song is actually an altered version of the Stones own sixties hit “Play With Fire,” that was used without the permission of Mick, Keith, and the boys.

Representatives for Lil Wayne as well as his record label Universal were not immediately available for comment.
