It’s always a good thing to know that you’ve got the backing of most of the elite of Hollywood. Especially if your goal is to run one of the most powerful countries in the world (debatable, but that’s another story for another time). Truly a rock star in his own right, Barack Obama does big like no one else, having the who’s who of music and Hollywood at his side at this year’s Democratic national convention.
The convention will take place in Denver, CO and the guest list is like the sweetest Sweet 16 a girl could ever dream for: Kanye West, NERD, Wyclef Jean, to name a few, are set to perform. It’s almost as if the man is gold and every star wants to get a piece of him for posterity—a bit cynical it may seem, but it’s true. I don’t think I’ve ever seen as much celebrity support for a candidate in my lifetime. Not only does he promise to have truly the most righteous concert ever seen at any Democratic convention, he also sports a support team like no other: Scarlett Johannson, Forest Whittaker, and Ed Norton all center their hopes for the States on this man’s shoulders, if not their hopes that he will take the reins from old W. And as if that weren’t enough, the four-day ordeal will also be the sight of a party commemorating Bono’s ONE campaign, say sources from the Washington Post.
With his entourage of celebrity elite (indeed, we aren’t talkin’ Paris Hilton and K-Fed, here—although I’m sure they’ve probably given their support to the candidate for appearances’ sake) Obama is set to rock Denver’s Invesco Field and give the people something they, quite possibly, have never seen before: a candidate cooler than a ice with ideas that will test the dangerous waters of conservative tradition.
