After being nominated for multiple Grammys, primarily for making songs by Justin Timberlake and Nelly Furtado tolerable, producer/rapper Timbaland will focus his energy on making a solo album.
His yet-to-be-titled effort is expected for release in March. We do know that his first single will probably be “Give It To Me,” featuring none other than Furtado and Timberlake (clearly paying off a debt of gratitude).
Timbaland has not released a CD with his own name on the cover since 2003’s Under Construction II, which was a collaboration with long-time partner Magoo. The likes of Bjork, Jay-Z, Missy Elliot, 50 Cent and many others will chime in and provide their Midas touches on his new album.
Timbaland’s sidekick, Nate “Danja” Hills told Billboard, "He ventures into the alternative world and the real pop world…He has so many different sounds from hip-hop, to pop, to rock on this album. And he pulls every single one of them off perfectly."
Granted, his sidekick may be a tad biased, but we'll find out for ourselves if it's any good in the spring.
