Timberlake Shoots Down Brit Brit

As a budding journalist, it is my responsibility to report the truth as it is from the artists that I cover. Yesterday, there was a report from the desk of PageSix (gossip column of the New York Times) that Brit and Justin were going to record a duet together. In saying that, I must report that Justin Timberlake has denied any such plans for a reunion, musical or otherwise.

Timberlake’s publicist released this concise and final statement to the eager press and fans therein: “[Justin] is not scheduled to be in the recording studio with Britney.”

Is this just another attempt from the ever publicity-hungry Spears to get her face in the public eye again? One can only guess. However, whatever duet, whether imagined or actual, would’ve been something that fans talked about for at least the few months that followed.

In the meantime, let’s all hope that Brit gets her life back on track and does herself some justice at this year’s VMA’s (scheduled to air 7 September at 9:00 pm). I won’t even mention last year’s mishap. We just pray this year’s foray into comeback mode is more successful.
