As if times weren’t hard enough for the agile drummer Travis Barker of Blink-182 fame. He’s going through a sudden break-up with his very attractive (albeit feisty) wife Shanna Moakler and he’s also keeping busy assembling the pieces for his new band (+44). And now, according to MTV.Com, he has broken his arm and the band will have to play around with their impending tour dates.
The band’s tour was set to begin October 13th in San Diego, but will launch instead on November 8th in Tampa Bay, Florida. Barker broke his arm during a recent video shoot, and he extended the injury by not knowing the extent of the damage, and continuing to bang the drums for three weeks. He wrote on his MySpace page, "[I've] been told to eat meat and change my diet (I've been a vegetarian for 16 years) [because] it's making my bones weak. I never thought I'd break a bone from playing my drums too hard/too long." Bang the drum softly, Travis. We know you have a lot of anger to get out, but please pace yourself.
We reported here that (+44) contains Barker and former Blink-182 bassist Mark Hoppus. Their debut album When Your Heart Stops Beating can be found in record stores November 14th via Interscope. Travis Barker can be found gnawing on meaty goods at various KFC joints for the duration of the fall. It would be insensitive to ask for his autograph.
