Warped Tour Announces Line-Up

Am I the only one who thinks Warped Tour is like P.T. Anderson or Judd Apatow movies? More often than not, Kevin Lyman just pulls a dozen or so bands from a large hat which includes all the previous headliners. I’m not even sure if that’s a well-choreographed business model or lazy indifference. I get that people would rather see the bands they like, but how many times can you really pay to see NOFX play on an average-sized stage with a bizarre hodgepodge of still-fighting-the-man forty-year olds and lip-ringed teenagers?

According to Billboard, this year’s line-up will feature Underoath, Senses Fail, Anti-Flag, Less Than Jake, Bad Religion, The Ataris, Flogging Molly, Bouncing Souls, and, of course, NOFX. Remember when Warped Tour used to include one oddball, not-quite-punk performer like Joan Jett or Billy Idol? Those were the days.

If you’re unhappy with these acts, fear not, the tour will also include dozens of other local and independent label bands including Chiodos, who I saw a few years back at Warped Tour and would highly recommend you check out.
