Water Broke on News of Lopez’s Pregnancy

Jennifer Lopez has finally come to terms with the fact that her “baby bump” is obvious. At Miami's American Airlines Arena Wednesday night, the latin pop singer confirmed that she and husband Marc Anthony are expecting their first child together, says MTV.com.

“We didn't want to say anything before because we didn't want to take away from the tour, but Marc and I are expecting,” Lopez, 38, told the crowd on the third and final night of her sold-out Miami tour stop. She thanked the audience for their support, adding, “We are happy too,” then she turned sideways to show off her new profile, reported MTV.

Lopez did not reveal when she is due, but hearsay about her rumored pregnancy has been traveling throughout the entertainment world for months. Fans probably weren't shocked about the announcement, then, but it seemed to catch Anthony, 39, off-guard, according to reports. After Lopez broke the news, she turned to her husband of three years and said, “I hope you don't mind.”

“This is a special time in our lives,” Lopez said from the stage, People reported. “And we waited until the last show to tell you.”

We waited? I thought Marc knew nothing about her obvious plans to break the news to the Miami crowd? So who is we? Later, Lopez added, the couple will “go away for a while.” Maybe so the two can communicate better and get on the same page about what they’re going to announce to the public and when. Or about what the word “we” actually means.
