Looking to attach herself alongside something sturdy and lasting, tabloid favorite Amy Winehouse has partnered with producer Mark Ronson to begin work on the new James Bond theme song. I guess her misshaped teeth and infected needle tracks weren’t alluring enough for producers to actually set aside screen time. This brilliant piece of non-casting comes as quite a relief to almost everyone, sans the disheveled trainwreck herself and Q, who likely could have lent his crafty talents to inventing needlessly complicated smoking devices, further cementing his legacy among stoners.
According to The Sun, the 007 film in question is called Quantum Of Solace and is scheduled for release later this year. Recording the James Bond theme song was once considered a great honor with Paul McCartney, Carly Simon, and Tina Turner all taking their shot, but thanks to a share of misfires, including a-ha and Gladys Knight, it no longer maintains the same luster. Here’s to hoping Amy does the track justice and survives long enough to attend the premiere.
