Zeppelin Without Plant?

By Camiele White: 2008-08-27 17:24:38
Zeppelin Without Plant? “How can this be?” I asked myself when I heard the news. “It just can’t be true that the Led is going on with new recordings without their orgasmic frontman!” Well, lads and ladies, at least for the time being, that seems to be the case.

Jason Bonham, Zeppelin’s drummer and the son of former band member John Bonham, has confirmed that the band has gone into the studio to record some new material, but their ethereal vocalist, Robert Plant is no where to be found. That’s right. You heard it here. There have been tracks added to an impending Zep release and as of late, Plant hasn’t been involved at all.

As far as Bonham is concerned, however, all he can do is live in the moment: “At the moment, all I know is I have the great pleasure to go and jam with the two guys and start work on some material. When I get there (in the studio) I never ask any questions. If I get a phone call to go and play, I enjoy every moment of it.

As PC as he’s trying to be (or oblivious, take your pick), from the point of view of an almost obsessive Led Zeppelin fan, I find this to be one of the most noxious bits of news I’ve heard since I learned that Mariah Carey had gone through a phase in which she called herself “MiMi”. It’s all very quite disturbing. I just hope and pray that Plant makes an appearance quickly so fans get a chance to hear that earth-shattering voice once again.

Unf%$#ingbelievable! Actually, without John Bonhan there is no Led Zeppelin.

  1. Man from Glad Says:

Sounds like three guys that just want to have fun. And a lady (Plant) in waiting.
I say get a new singer and leave the old bloke in the South of the USA. It's a great retirement community I hear.

  1. dkarstedt Says:

It could be zeppelin with jason bonham on drums I think, but it would not be without Plant and Page together. Long live zeppelin!

  1. guy with taste Says:

Plant could never sing back in the day and he sure as hell can't sing now. He is an awful talentless loser with the most effeminate of stage poses, I laugh at people who think zeppelin have credibility. They were definately style over substance and even then they weren't that stylish.
Most of their actually listenable songs were ripped off others. They were the very worst of a.o.r. , bloody Foreigner was heavier and more talented than this bunch of bloated posers. I wouldn't argue against the fact that zeppelin were influential, it explains why music is in such a dire situation. Earth to Led Zeppelin, stay Dead!
