On the eve of the release of their new Brendan O’Brien produced Black Ice album and their first American tour in eight years, AC/DC have just launched their very own channel on Sirius XM Radio. AC/DC Radio debuted Monday September 15, 2008 on SIRIUS channel 29 and is expected to run at least through through January 15, 2009.
AC/DC Radio will feature a blend of classic AC/DC tracks, exclusive rarities, and new tracks from the band’s upcoming Black Ice album, which will be sold in the U.S. exclusively at Wal-Mart and Sam's Club beginning Monday, October 20, 2008, and on the band’s web site at ACDC.com. The band will also preview cuts from the album, and feature interviews with members Angus Young, Malcolm Young, Cliff Williams, Brian Johnson and Phil Rudd. AC/DC’s new and improved DVD release No Bull: The Directors Cut (which was recently reviewed right here) is also off to a great start on the video charts, debuting at the #1 position in ten countries, including the United States, Canada, the U.K., and the band’s native Austrailia (source: Global DVD). AC/DC have sold some 200 million record worldwide and are 2003 inductees into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame. AC/DC’s Black Ice tour will open in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania on October 28th and wrap up on December 18th in Charlotte, NC, with the band returning in summer 2009 for a round of stadium shows. Tickets go on sale Sept. 20. For more information on AC/DC Radio (including how to score a free 3-day pass to check it out), visit Sirius Satellite Radio. |
