Dave Matthews popped into my adopted hometown of Bloomington, Indiana last night, causing a frenzied uproar not seen since Bobby Knight was unceremoniously shitcanned. The free concert, taking place one day before voter registration ended, was more of a Barack Obama campaign rally than anything else, but music was played and all in attendance seemed happy with his performance.

Some of us here at Cinema Blend have been vocal critics of Mr. Matthews for the last few years, but between this complimentary gig and his efforts to redistribute Liz Phair’s groundbreaking album, it’s hard to say anything bad about the guy. On a side note, if you live in Indiana, get your ass to your local Library, DMV, or Voter Registration Office this afternoon. We all owe the Founding Fathers of this country a large debt, and the best way to compensate them is to vote.
