Fall Out Boy Censors Itself, Punk Officially DiesAuthor: Mack Rawden

PG-13 rated punk rockers Fall Out Boy are preparing the release of their first ever live CD/DVD. The disc, entitled ****, features all eight of the band’s music videos along with a number of covers including Michael Jackson’s “Beat It” and fellow faux-badasses Panic At The Disco’s “I Write Sins Not Tragedies.” It’s a sad day for the music industry when the band most fourteen through eighteen year olds would define as the punk band edit out their own swearing, as to not offend anyone’s delicate minds. Nevermind the bollocks, though, bring on childish rantings about ex-girlfriends and parents who just don’t get it.
According to Billboard, the combo package will drop on April 8th. I’m sure Henry Rollins will be the first one in line. Is anyone else violently ill over the thought these clowns are supposed to be carrying on the message of GG Allin, Patti Smith, and The Stooges? Do you honestly think Iggy Pop would censor his own fuck bombs? Hell no. He’d make producers edit in more unnecessary obscenities and then stab a production assistant for good measure. |
