iTunes Offers Idol Downloads

It may be because producers of the most popular show on television care about giving their fans access to more content. It may be because both Idol and iTunes start with the same letter. But more than likely, it’s because the suits behind the cultural phenomenon that is American Idol want to syphon every last cent out of the massive hole in Uncle Sam’s jeans.

According to Billboard, iTunes will begin offering weekly downloads of each contestant’s performances. The renditions will be available at .99 cents a pop and be ready for computer transfer within twenty-four hours of the initial airing. Great. Just what I wanted: some above-average nobody belting out a slightly off-key cover of Thin Lizzy. Wake me up when a drugged-up and desperate Jessica Sierra hooks up with Steve Jobs to offer her about to be released homemade porno on Apple products.
