Timbaland Goes Off On People MagazineAuthor: Rema Rahman

People Magazine felt the wrath of one Timbaland early Saturday morning. The rapper/producer was so pissed security at the magazine’s pre-Grammy showcase left some of his entourage outside, he ended the party by blowing his top on stage. Following a performance by close friend and fellow recording success Missy Elliot, Timbaland reportedly shouted, "Next time I have one of my homeboys in line, let that [guess expletive] in!" later adding that he was a “peoples person.”
Coming off of performances by Chris Cornell, Paramore and One Republic, Timbaland efficiently ended the Los Angeles party with "I don't like to see my people turned around for some [guess expletive] magazine ... [guess expletive] y'all!" Ironic since the magazine threw the party partially on his behalf. An unnamed source close to the magazine (i.e. probably someone who works at the damn thing) told Billboard that they didn’t understand why Timbaland was even upset. This, considering they had co-sponsored the party with Verizon Wireless, who struck a deal with the musician recently to create a mobile album. Seems said super producer appeared to have had a chip on his shoulder early in the night as he reportedly hung out by the stage scowling at Cornell’s set – an artist that he helped produce. I mean really Timba – what’s leaving a few friends out in the cold when you’re worth millions? |
