Since I have dancer daughters and also sometimes review lousy dancing DVD’s like Step Up 2 the Streets, I can see how dance movies are ripe for the spoofing. Girl (or boy) from the right side of the streets meets boy (or girl) from the wrong side in order to mesh the two styles into something that blows everyone’s mind. Word up. Up jump the boogy from the rhythm of the boogity beat.
While this is a subject that is easy to make fun of, it doesn’t mean a spoof will be, you know, good. The Wayans Brothers (or at least six of them) have made Dance Flick and the folks at IGN have the trailer. We’ve also placed it below. It actually looks funny but I’m sure the trailer has all the funny parts of the movie, and it’s free! So enjoy and skip the actual film when it comes out next February.
