Those of us who follow these things have been prepared for months now for the Guy Ritchie-ification of Sherlock Holmes, featuring a buff Robert Downey Jr. and hand to hand combat. But The New York Times is taking it upon themselves to warn the rest of the world, with a big article from last Wednesday that explains all the ways in which this Holmes will not be like your father's.
It's a neat article, but what's really interesting in it are two new pictures, one showing Ritchie behind the scenes dressing as nattily as his actors, and another clarifying some set photos we saw a few months back. I still can't tell what that weird pocket watch type thing is, but it sure does seem to be important.
Check out the images at the Times article, and read the article for behind-the-scenes info on what the new Holmes and Watson will be like, and how the purists can still be happy with a reinvented version of their hero.
