The Super Bowl TV spot for The Year One got a laugh out of all of us, sure, but now it's time for the real stuff. Yahoo! Movies has debuted the movie's first theatrical trailer, and we've got it embedded for you to examine below.
In the movie directed by Groundhog Day director Harold Ramis, Jack Black and Michael Cera play two cavemen who are evicted from their colony, and end up on, as the trailer puts it, "the first road trip." The trailer gives us more plot, but plot doesn't really seem to be the point; instead there are lots of historical gags, like the squabbling brothers Cain and Abel played by Paul Rudd and David Cross. Oh, and there's plenty of pratfalls and people getting hit by rocks, because hey, why not!
To be honest the movie doesn't look super-promising based on the trailers, but then again, Ramis is a comedy legend, and the script probably had to be good to get such great talent in it. So for now I'll reserve judgment, and just keep giggling at lines like "Your name is suck!" Check out the trailer below.
