Cameron Diaz is in final negotiations to join the cast of a movie called Swingles. It’s quite a catchy title, if you’re making a movie about singles infiltrating the world of swinging. Actually I sort of just assume that’s what Cameron Diaz’s normal sex life is like anyway. Maybe that hits too close to home, since that’s not what this movie is about anyway.
It’s sort of a wasted title. Variety says Swingles is about a bachelor who teams up with a “sharp-tongued” woman to meet single babes. Kind of generic, isn’t it? Cameron Diaz would be the sharp-tongued woman, though they may need to change the character to spazzy woman in order to suit her. To Cameron’s credit, most of her upcoming movies aren’t soulless rom-coms. She’s doing one of those terribly serious Nick Cassavetes movies and then some time later this year you’ll see her in The Box, Richard Kelly’s latest weirdfest.
