Michael Moore has kept the title of his latest documentary under wraps for a while, most likely because it took him a while to figure out what it was even about. But now, with an announcement tinged with pretty typical irony on his part, that on October 2 he'll be debuting Capitalism: A Love Story, his screed against the corporations and banks that crippled our economic system last year.
Variety quoted Moore's announcement, in which he called the film "the perfect date movie." "It's got it all -- lust, passion, romance and 14,000 jobs being eliminated every day. It's a forbidden love, one that dare not speak its name. Heck, let's just say it: It's capitalism."
Something tells me the only actual love we'll be seeing in the film is the one businessmen have for their piles of cash, but hey, we'll see how it turns out when we see the movie. Really the title gives a sharp reminder of Moore's brand of humor, and it's a moment when you have to ask yourself-- are you really ready for this guy to come back? I thought I was, but honestly, I think I need a bit more time before I'm ready for this Michigander to start asking the hard questions again.
