The first pics from the much anticipated Wachowski brothers adaptation of Speed Racer are here… and it looks like a cross between Tron and a bad pinball machine. I’m sure Speed Racer fans will be ready to disagree with me, but wow, what a garish, laughable mess this thing looks to be. It looks like exactly what it is… a movie shot entirely in front of a green screen, with no actual sets. Plasticy, cartoony, and completely unrealistic. Why’d they bother with live-action actors again?
